Universem is a training project directed to newly graduates or students women with the
80% of their degree courses completed. The main objective of this project is to increase
work possibilities by facilitating job placements for those who are unemployed and
have difficulties in accessing the job market, thus promoting equal opportunities.
Universem Project places at newly graduates and students’ disposal all orientation and
formation resources available, stimulates the learning of social and personal abilities
required to increase their possibilities of insertion, promotes a complementary
formation, not included during their higher education studies, and improves relations
between university and companies through internships of the selected women.
The project includes seven training modules:
-Microsoft Office (30 hours).
-English B1 (50 hours).
-Management skills (15 hours).
-Setting up and merging companies (15 hours).
-Equal opportunities (10 hours).
-Business English (30 hours).
-Labour Market Orientation (100 hours).
The University of Almería has selected thirty women from different educational areas such
as:

The University of Almería has selected thirty women from different
educational areas such as: _*Architecture*_, Business Management,
Tourism, Psychology, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering to have the
opportunity to carry out this project, and only ten of them will be able
to have an internship in companies from the European Union.

Business Management, Tourism, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Psychology to
have the opportunity to carry out this project, and only ten of them will be able to have an
internship in companies from the United Kingdom. This aim is concerned with enabling
vocational training to prepare for the professions of tomorrow, to anticipate change, to
visualize the future, to prepare and experiment with new ways and new methods. The
selection of the ten participants for the internships abroad has been done by the
Universem project coordinator at the University of Almería and the Vice-chancellorship of

tests and personal interviews. The participants have a good working knowledge of foreign
languages and are highly motivated to gain new experiences abroad.
The European Union and the Andalusian Institute for Women finance the
accommodation with host families and travelling expenses for the ten participants and
the University of Almería provides them with a medical and travel insurance for the
whole period abroad. Companies interested in participating in this project as host
organizations are not committed to give any financial aid to the participant, it is
completely voluntary.
HOW YOUR COMPANY CAN PROFIT FROM HOSTING A UNIVERSEM STUDENT OR GRADUATE:
You will gain an additional qualified employee
• with special knowledge on the implementation of new
technologies
• for a project with a specific period of time
• for special tasks (e.g. software development, model
construction)
• who can assist your company in beginning and/or expanding its
international networks & collaboration.
THE SENDING ORGANIZATION COMMITS TO:
Define precisely the objectives of the length of stay, particularly the attitudes to be
developed and the competences to be acquired.
Choose the destination city, the length and the programme of the stay as well as the host
organizations which make possible the set objectives.
Select the participants according to clearly defined and open criteria.
Prepare the participants for the daily professional and cultural life of the host country
together with the host partners, and particularly provide them with a linguistic training
adapted to their professional needs. They will receive a training course of 10 hours
regarding culture and conflict resolution.

Establish a contract whose clauses have to be clear for every
involved side.
Negotiate everything related to the transport, the conditions of the stay, the social
protection and insurances, the visa and work permit if required.
Send the documents (bank transfers, etc.) to the participants.
Evaluate each participant’s results related to the professional and personal level of their
participation the programme.
THE SENDING AND HOSTING ORGANIZATIONS COMMIT TOGETHER TO:
Negotiate the individualized programme for each participant.
Agree the monitoring mechanisms of each participant.
Establish the mechanisms of validity and recognition of aptitudes and competences
according to shared defined criteria.
Organize a communication system that includes the participant.
Evaluate the progress of the project continuously, and proceed with modifications if
necessary.
THE HOSTING ORGANIZATION COMMITS TO:
Favour the understanding of the hosting country’s culture.
Establish a training programme for the participant following the template facilitated by
sending organization at least 4 weeks before the starting date of the internship.
Count on the participants giving them tasks and responsibilities related to their
knowledge, aptitudes and competences, in order to achieve the project’s objectives.
Assign a tutor in charge of supervising the participants’ training progress.
Contribute with a logistic support, if necessary.
Check that the participants are correctly insured.

THE PARTICIPANTS COMMIT TO:
Fulfil the negotiated agreement of their stay and put all their efforts to make it successful.
Respect the regulations of the hosting organization, the work schedule, the code of
business conduct and professional discretion.
Communicate to the sending organization any incidents or changes related to their stay.
Have at disposal an email account in order to receive information from the sending
organization.
Fill out the forms required from the hosting organization at the end of their stay.
